I just got my septum pierced about 3-4 weeks ago (can't remember exactly). The first 4 days were extremely painful if my nose was accidentally hit or touched or if I tried to adjust the jewelry. It was around the 3rd day that I went to my local CVS and got a generic Biactin spray and I wouldn't have made that first 2 weeks without it. Not only did it keep the area disinfected but it loosened the crusties enough to wipe off and not be painful and it also numbed the area temporarily. :) now though, there is barely any pain except for when I push a little on the tip of my nose. There aren't any more crusties either and I haven't had to use the spray since that second week. Good luck to anyone wanting a septum piercing or has a newly pierced one! :)

I got my nose pierced April 24th, it was fine, I was washing twice a day with sea salt soaks then 2 days in I started using antibacterial soap & the piercing started sinking. I went back to the piercer, he changed the stud & it was excellent until today (I washed it with soap again yesterday) when I woke up the whole L shaped jewelry went threw my nose so it was poking out on top I had to push it down which caused bleeding & the stud kind of sunk a little. I'm praying it doesn't start sinking in again. So antibacterial soap is a big no-no for me now. Sticking to my sea salt even if it dries the skin around it.

Wow I've never seen anyone gauge a nose piercing. That seems like a fairly bad idea. What if you wanted to take out the plugs? Would it look like your ear lobes when people take those out?

I got my nose ring on March 19,2012 for my birthday and the piercer told me to wash it with soap and water but for a week I only been washing it once a day. Is that good or bad? It hasn't gotten swollen or infected but I'm scared it will. Should I still wash it 2-3 times a day, like morning and night or just wash it once in the morning.
