These are the not so comforting words when me and my friend decided to pierce my nose! I was 15 and my mom told me that I had to wait til I was 15 to get my nose pierced me being so IMPATIENT I decided what the heck I might as welll do it myself.
It wasn’t traditional because the “studio” was my best friends bed room. I put ice on my nose for 30 mins and we sterilyed the needle her sister came in to “help”. “Ok samantha breathe in and out……this won’t hurt I promise” She started to drive the needle into my numb nose and I thought yayyy! Im soo close. Then before i know it her sister was there trying to help push it through when she got a phone call! She answers and says:”HOLD ON IM PUSHING A NEEDLE THROUGH SAMS NOSE!” and then with a sudden silence in the room it was done I took some antiseptic and put the nose ring in
I was sooo happy the only bad thing was my mom didnt know this just happened. I made my way home walked in the door draging my firend for moral support and walk into the paror just staring at my mom we exchanged a hello and i told her everything(almost everything) about my weekend. As I turn my head she has this look and she said:”sam u have glitter on ur nose” laughing to myself I say oh ya but she isn’t as blind as I thought and quickly realized what I had done.
The whole next couple of days was a little painful it took a couple of months for it to with with the help of sea salt spray from InkSomnia a tattoo parlor by my house. I was happy and relived that I could keep it and she even took me to buy some nose rings:)) I was happy becuase it really didn’t hurt but then again I iced my nose before hand proper cleaning was really my best friend. I went to walmart and the tattoo parlor for my nose rings even the icing the prices are usually around 10-20 it just matters how many and the type. Walmart is where I usually go $5 for 3 nose rings with the little ball at the end! I will never regret what I did yes a little stupid or immature but proper care and a understanding mom is all I really needed, its been 3 years since I got my nose pierced and I’ve never been happier!
The best look ever!

Hi! My name is Jeannie yea like genie in the bottle he he he my mother got the name from the show back in the days….I got my nose pierced on the right side exactly 2 weeks ago… I wanted my nose pierced for about five years.
I had my navel pierced when i was turning 16 I am now 26 and it loked awesome but i have 2 kids doesn’t look as great n e more. So i kept doing research on it cause i was a little afraid of the healing process and how painful it would be. My husband is not into tattoos or piercings so i had to keep telling him over over over that i really wanted this piercing so finally he gave in.
I went to a tattoo shop near my way because thats where every 1 around my way gets their tattoo and piercings done they are hygienic and professional and that was very important in my decision. So i begged my sister-in-law t get it done with me so she could go first and i can see it personally ha ha ha ha slick of me i know…Everyone kept telling me if u do it u gnna really look like ahindu cause i already look indian.
But i wanted it n e ways. So my sister-in-law was brave cause she had done it before but when it was my turn i was a bit nervous i started joking around with me to ease me down he was very down to earth loved that he made me feel relaxed so he explained every step before doing it which made me feel very safe and confident about doing it. So POW! He cleaned my nose with alcohol to disinfect then put the clamp to hold the nose before anything i told him where i wanted it then it was done with a needle was put through and my tears came down not because it hurt but because is the nerves of the nose and eyes connect.
It was the most prettiest piercing i have gotten yet. And yes everyone thinks i am hindu which i dont mind

I’ve wanted my nose pierced for over a year now, but i wasn’t sure if I wanted a nostril or a septum piercing. I’m a big fan of Paramore, and when I saw Hayley Williams’, the lead singer, septum piercing I thought it looked really good and decided to research septum piercings.
I thought they looked cool and would be easy to hide if I needed to, so I decided to get one. I’m currently on a study abroad trip in France and a bunch of us decided to get our piercings in London one weekend.
However, the piercing place that was recommended to us had a gas leak and so we didn’t get them pierced in London. The next weekend, we went to Blois, France to this piercing and tattoo shop called Corporeal Designs. We went on a Friday and the guy only did piercings on Saturdays, but since there were six of us that wanted piercings, he decided to do them that day.
My friend went in before me to get her nostril pierced. She came out and told me that it hurt so much she almost passed out. This freaked me out b/c Idon’t have a high pain tolerance. But still, I went back to get it done. The guy didn’t speak much English, but he knew enough to explain the procedure and the aftercare. He was super sweet and joked around with me some about America, which made me feel more relaxed.
He took out three different size clamps, which freaked me out even more. He cleaned my nose and felt around for the sweet spot, then marked it with a marker. He then showed me the needle still in the package. I have to say, this man was very meticulous with cleanliness. Every surface in the room was clean. He put the tube on one side of my nose and the needle on the other and told me to look at the door and take a deep breath. Then he pushed the needle through. It didn’t hurt at all.
There was a little bit of pressure when he first put it in, but I barely felt it go through. Putting the jewelry in was the same amount of pain, very very little. My eyes did water a lot and my nose stung a lot afterwards but it was not bad at all. I got this done yesterday, and so far it only hurts when I move the jewelry around to clean it. I love the way it looks! Its definitely worth it but you will get some negative reactions to it.
But if you love it, like I do, it doesn’t matter if everyone else likes it or not.

MinimumI’ve been wanting to get my eyebrow pierced since last summer, but about a month ago, I was thinking about getting my nose pierced. I talked to my mom about it, and at first, the answer was no, and there was no discussion. But I talked to her more, convincing her that it wasn’t that bad, and that I could take it out if anything goes wrong. A couple more days, and the deal is made. If I pass 8th grade without having to go to summer school, then I could get a piercing.
I was blown away. I looked into piercings and stuff and ditched the nose piercing. I was thinking about getting a labret instead. I still wanted my eyebrow piercing, but I didn’t think my mom would go for it, so I didn’t wanna ask and push my luck.
After going to a flea market and getting my nose pierced with a gun (thats a different story), it fell off when I was sleeping. So my mom then took me to a tattoo shop to get it re-done. I was again blown away. Yeah, I chickened out at the flea market and ended up getting thenose piercing. Don’t get anything pierced at an evil place like this kids!…Muahahaha
I was happy that my mom was taking me. I was actually gonna have it done at a real place. We drove to All Star Tattoos, and I was getting scared to go inside. But I did, and when I went inside, there was a girl who was about to get her belly button pierced. I guess that kindof made me feel better, that I wasn’t the only moron with my mom in the tattoo shop.
After sitting in the waiting area for about half an hour more or less, after looking at pictures and photos, after having the guy asking me if I decided yet every 5 minutes, after starting to think twice, I finally decided to get my nose pierced. I was considering getting my eyebrow pierced also, but I decided to wait a little while more for that.
I was finally ready to pay and everything, and I went up to the desk and payed $25. Then the piercer told me to go to that little room where he was sitting and he closed the curtain. I sat in this little leather bl!
ack chai
r and my heart started pounding, but I was excited.
First, he washed his hands, put on gloves, and got all the tools ready. Then he got some kind of cleaner and a q-tip and started spreading it over the area he marked of the spot to be pierced. I don’t exactly remember if he put something else on. =O
He then got a thin medal clamp and held it on the pen marked spot. He said to get ready, and I had my eyes closed as he put the needle through the hole in the clamp. I was holding my mom’s hand the whole time. My left eye was watering alot so the piercer gave me a tissue. It hurt alot yeah, I won’t lie and say it was all peachy, but at the same time, it’s pretty fun.
It was finally over. He sprayed it with some other cleaner and I went back to the front of the desk. He spoke about what I needed to get to clean the piercing, and I asked if H2Ocean I bought at the flea market was cool. He said yeah and told me to clean it every day and let it soak, and that in a few weeks I can change the jewelry to whatever Iwant.
The stud that was put in is a little diamond with a curve inside to prevent it from falling out. Evry day I’ve been cleaning it and eveything, and it looks perfect. I’m anxious to change the stud to maybe a ball enclosure loop, and for it to be healed already. It hurts like hell when I accidently pull the stud out, not sompletely out, but I tug on it and it’s sticking out sideways. Yeah.
Just go for your nose piercing if you really want it. I think I’d feel bare without it if I had to take it out now. It’s all great, you know. People think it’s bad and nasty and stuff, but if you wanna do it to your body, and if it will make you happy, then do it for yourself. YaYa.

Ok so a few years ago I got my belly button pierced. And I really loved it. So like after I got my belly button pierced I really wanted my nosed pierced. So I asked my mom and she said wait till I turn 16. So I waited till then.
When I was 16 and really to get my nose pierced I happened to look at my face. I really, really, really had alot of acne. So I held out for a bit. So I spent 2 months geting my acne to go a way. So before I went to get my nose pierced I had looked up the price and healing time. I also watched a lot of videos of people getting their nose pierced. I asked my best friends Brittnye and Nicole a lot of questions. Like did it hurt and did you bleed a lot, ect. So the day before I got my nose pierced I looked in the mirror and was trying to figure out what side I should get it pierced on.
Now this is what I had a real hard time on. So I used eye liner and placed a little black dot on each side of my nose to see what side looked better.
Most people have their right side done, but when I seen it my left side looked so much better that the right side. So the day of the piercing I went to the same place where I went to get my belly button pierced. As usual the shop was clean from head to toe. The piercing was quick. It did hurt just a bit. But only when the needle went through and when he cleaned it.
When he cleaned my new nose pierceing my nose started to bleed and eye started to cry a lot. I was not crying be cause it hurt. Its just that the smell of the cleaner he was using was just so dam strong. But it’s all healed now and I love my nose and belly button piercing. I think I’m done with piercings.
And I’m about to switch to tattoos.
I pierced it myself!?

Well as you know body piercings are a type of artform that many people enjoy in todays society. and as everyone knows there will be alot of amazing storys about how they got into them why they like them and many stories about how they did them themselves!
As i am a big fan of body piercings i too have storys to tell about my piercings. well to start all the piercings i have on my body were all done by me and the one particular piercing thats my current fave is my nose. i knew it wouldnt be a problem piercing my nose because i had already knew that i could pierce cartalige as i have pierced the cartalige on my ears before and knew that piercing my nose wouldnt be a problem.
So i took out my curved sowing needle that i kept for piercings and i found the middle of my left nostril and marked it with a pen. then i got out some rubbing alcohol and sterilized the needle and the spare earring that i had laying about that i could use. then after both were sterilized i poked the needle through till it ent all the way through my nose. then i took the needle out slowly and immediately put the earring through my nose. then i cleaned the newly pierced piercing with rubbing alcohol. the next day i went to hottopic and purchased some real nose rings and left one in for about 4 weeks till i changed it out making shure it would heal right. i also made shure that it was cleaned 3 times a day for about 2 weeks.

So after finally getting the approval from my parents to get my belly button pierced, I wanted to get my nose done. I don’t know what made me want it, I think it was Christina Aguilera’s pretty flower piercing. I thought tiny studs looked so pretty. I started to hint to my mum that I wanted to get my nose pierced for quite some time. Eventually she said ishe wouldn’t mind but it depended on what my dad says. I got the courage to ask them both but dad really didn’t like the idea. But I still wanted to get it. Mum said she would talk to him about it and 4 months later she found the perfect time to ask. It all came down to the fact that I’m old enough to get it done anyway. I’m almost 21 years old, but I would never do something against my parents if it means a lot to them. They thought it wasn’t such a big deal. I was so excited!
I decided not to go to the same place I got my belly done, I wasn’t happy with the service. I heard great things about this other place and booked a tim for me and my fiancé. When I got my belly done, he got his cartilage done (which was done badly and had to be taken out). This time around he decided to pierce his tragus. That day we chose our jewellery and waited for them to be sterilized. I really wanted a white gold and diamond stud but they were too expensive and decided to buy mine online at a later date.
The lady had excellent customer service and made us feel very comfortable. We had to go in one at a time for health and safety reasons, so I went it first. She said if I could handle the belly piercing, I was sure to handle this. I heard that nose piercings were much more painful than belly piercings and my belly piercing was complete agony so this wasn’t good news. She placed a dot on my nose and I took a good look at it and said it was fine. She told me to close my eyes as she placed a hollow, metal tube in my right nostril and had the needle ready to pierce. I was hoping that it wouldn’t hurt that bad and she counted to three and pie!
Pierced. WOW!
That was just fine! It felt like a little shock and the pain was totally bearable. My eyes watered just a little. The needle just slide right in. She said the worst was over, but I’ve heard that before and am sure it is not over just yet. She told me she was going to thread the stud in and I said “oh no…” and she assured me she was very quick. She wasn’t as quick as I’d hoped but it didn’t hurt at all. There was no blood which was surprising and I had a look at it and loved it. She told me to be careful when drying it after a shower, not to touch it, spray it twice a day with the antiseptic I bought and to remove any crusties with a cotton bud.
I’ve had it in for 7 weeks now and it’s healing well. It developed that ‘red bump’ you hear about so I started sea salt soaks. She also recommended I sleep with a band-aid so that I don’t knock it when I sleep (apparently people do this without realizing). I did so for 2 weeks and thought I wouldn’t need it anymore. Turns out, I do. I’v scratched and rubbed it in my sleep, and… it hurts.
I recommend anybody who wants to get their nose done, to totally go for it.

Back in 1994, I had my nose pierced. I had gotten it done by a guy who used a piercing gun and then quickly swapped out the piercing jewelry for a post of my choice. I had left it in for a couple of years – I was a figure skater and I remember one time being on the ice with my coach and swiping at my nose and it fell out onto the ice. My coach watched (in horror) as I plucked it off the ice and put it back in and said “oops…”
I have forgotten why I took it out. It might be because my allergies are always having my nose ‘on the run’ and I got tired of dealing with it; I really can’t remember. Just one day I took it out and was ‘done with it.’
My ex husband never liked it so he was happy I took it out, but I found that I missed it in a strange way. He moved out in March, 2008 and I began a ‘new life’ so to speak. I started shedding pounds (not that I’m svelte now but I was a fatty then) and maybe I could call it a mid-life crisis or maybe not. I played with the idea of getting it redone but was terrified of a ‘non piercing gun’ approach.
The idea of someone shoving a hollow needle through my nose made me pretty squeamish-the scaredy whuss I am…so I decided to hold that thought for a while. I was dating a man for a few months and he shunned the idea of me doing this. When he dumped me in mid July I said okay that’s it. Who’s in charge here? I AM! I asked around for some recommendations and was told by my friend, L, as well as a lady I know at the Harley Shop that Body Exotic in San Jose, CA had been around for years and years and they used ‘hospital-like’ techniques.
So I called them up and they told me the process and I made the 20 minute drive to get it done. Daniel was my piercer, and he had me choose my jewelry to start. I chose a very tiny diamond (no not a real one). I was put in a room to lay down and he came in and prepped me. He looked at my nose and bent the jewelry to fit my nostril so it wouldnt be poking me.
The first time I had it done, that was never done; I wound up taking a pair of pliers and bending my jewelry. Then it began. He said “Okay you might feel a pinch…” My reaction? I started humming the Star Spangled Banner!
I have NO idea where that came from! But it was over pretty quickly and I could see the jewelry when I crossed my eyes .
I was very happy with the experience, but I kept knocking it out in the middle of the night which sucked. This went on for a couple of months – but finally stopped. It healed nicely and I’ve been able to change it but I am always very careful to disinfect any jewelry going in. Had the navel pierced a few weeks later and that story is on this website’s corresponding belly ring story area.
I think I’m done punching holes in myself… I dont’ want to start whistling when I’m riding my Harley down the highway!
