I wanted my nose pierced for the longest time in high school, I always thought they looked really pretty and accented the face! 😉
I asked my mom if I could do it and she said she was all for it, and told me to ask my dad too. My dad scrunched his nose and told me he didn’t think I would be able to sit through it. Lol, little did he know, I did! 😉
My mom surprised me on my 17th birthday by taking me to the tattoo shop where her and my dad always got their tattoos. I was so nervous, I was shaking a bit when I was trying to sign the papers.
A super nice guy led me into the room off to the side and asked me if I had any questions or concerns, told me how to care for and clean my piercing, and asked if I was okay. I told him I was all good, and to go for it.
He started by marking a dot on the left side of my nose, exactly where I wanted it. After that, he grabbed the needle and I of course didn’t wanna watch, so I closed my eyes…
At first, when he touched the needle to my nose and started pushing to get it through, it hurt, but on a scale of 1 to 10, it was probably a 2 overall. Once the needle was in my nose, it didn’t hurt at all, just a little weird. The next thing I knew, I was opening my eyes and the stud was in my nose. My left eye was a little watery, but other than that, I was so happy about my new piercing! 😀
He cleaned my nose up with a q tip and some saline solution, because it bled a little bit, and then he explained to me how to clean it 2-3 times a day, and what kinds of things to clean it with. In case I forgot any of that, he also gave me a paper with all sorts of things on how to clean it, how to soak it, how to gently soap it in the shower.
Overall, he was a fantastic piercer. The process was quick and almost painless and he told me everything I needed to know about my new piercing!
The piercing took about 4 months for mine to heal and that’s when I ended up changing my screw shaped nose ring, the ring that the piercer used when I first got my nose pierced, to an L shaped stud. I’m so happy with the outcome!
